Future Applications of Big Data
Future Applications of Big Data
At the moment, the
Big Data analytics market is reaching $350 billion, and by 2029, it is expected
to grow to $655 billion. This is due to the predictions of the future applications of Big Data.
For example, before I spoke about the use of Big Data in society including retail applications. Today, Big Data is used mainly for personalised marketing, inventory optimisation, and trend predictions. This approach enhances customer experience and operational efficiency. As more retail businesses around the globe become more data focused, and millions of customers are purchasing products and services from those companies, Big Data will only become more essential for the profit and growth of the retail industry. Big Data can help analyse why these customers are buying these products and who is buying them. This analysis may help the company to predict what else customers are or aren’t interested in buying, maximising profits.
An example I found really interesting was in military
intelligence gathering, Big Data is used progressively to provide mission-critical, timely
information to predict and analyse trends. In the future, even larger data sets
will be able to be used to reap more accurate results. Furthermore, Big Data
analytics may be used in defence to monitor the location of hostile forces and
their patterns.
Another future application of Big Data is in sports. This is because of the growing use of IoT devices that regulate sports and players. Specifically, it can help illustrate player performances, which allows coaches and managers to create more detailed strategies and assess their effectiveness.
After reading these examples, it seems Big Data will soon play a part in everyone's life one way or another.
